SRF has gotten the shaft on the schedule so far IMO. At NJMP we had first session out for Q and then last session of the day for the race IIRC. Not so cool when we were interchangeable with the FE group. Now we get stuffed into a 3 day schedule. Not too bad for me as I'm local but it would be a big hit if I were coming in from a distance. Hopefully this is a one off situation and won't happen in the future events.
This is mainly an SCCA event and the karts have 3 Saturday sessions while we have one? Not cool in my book.
To fix the not-so-good schedule, we need a large car count AT EVERY RACE. If next year we could get 30 to 40 cars we would move up the food chain. 40 would put us on top, we would be the biggest and you know we have some of the best races. Lets work for 40.
I agree but we've had larger counts than FE, and the karts and 944 cup are one-off weekends. Outside of TDI cup I believe we've averaged the largest field in SCCA Pro this year.
Good point, somehow someone needs to figure out how to get srf driver to travel. If we could get 20 drivers traveling we should be able to pick up another 10 to 15 locals.
A problem I see now is we have about 10 to 12 drivers traveling and the tracks we go to some of the locals who don't travel and are not in the points count cause points problems.
What do you mean by cause points problems? If someone can't finish up front then they don't deserve points. If a local guy only does two events and is in the top five each race then they earned the points in those two races. If you discourage the locals from coming then you really will have a participation problem.
