Hi I'm new to SRF and am converting a GEN 2 to GEN 3 . I assume the " scoop" in discussion is the forward facing air inlet on the left side between the wheel arch bulge and the hump over the engine???
Also on the conversion, I did not get a speedo drive gear on my upgraded gearbox, and didn't have one on the old 'box. From what I understand I need this for pitlane speed limiter. Is this required by GCR?

Yes -- that's the scoop on the scoop over the wheel well, which needs to be removed on GEN3 for 2018.

If I'm reading this correctly, the gear drive is required per GCR (January 2018):

Final Drive Ratio:
3.62 or 3.85; 3.85 only 1/1/2018.
For 3.62 Speedo drive gear must remain, for 3.85 Speedo drive gear must be installed. Previously sealed transmissions, as documented by seal numbers, are exempt until next rebuild or 1/1/2018.
