What's the conventional wisdom on ideal shift points with the gen3 engine and the updated gearing?
I know that i could look at the HP & Torque curves and try and figure it out, but since i'm not sure how to do it, I thought I'd ask y'all first :D

My observation is it just wants to rev up the rev limiter. Think it is 6500 RPM.

The Gen 3 can to be driven between 4500 and 6500 rpm. Although it really likes the revs to be in the 5000 to 6500 rpm range. Jim is right just run it up to 6500 and shift. Go out on a test day session and accelerate the car through the gears running up to red line. Look at your data after a session and see how many revs you drop after a shift...that will give you a good idea for your shift points.

Anecdotal evidence - I ran a Gen3 at the tire test and it had a CDS CoPilot on the steering wheel. That unit covered up the analog tach which was fine, except that the CoPilot wasn't working for some reason. As such, I couldn't see the dash to know when to shift and as I had very, very few laps in an Gen3 I just played it conservatively.
I ran one session and came in way slower than I expected. When I went back and looked at where the needle was when I was shifting (I could see a bit of the needle but no numbers), I was shifting at around 6000-6100. I went out again and ran her up to 6500+ (never hit the rev limiter which I believe is 6750) and picked up over 2 full seconds per lap instantly.
So I'm thinking that the 6000-6600 part of the power band is pretty critical. :D
