I know this is not Daytona-related, but 3.85 will definitely be quicker at my local Roval. 3.62 is a tweener in 3rd gear in a couple spots, and will be even worse if the Hoosier drive tire is taller than the GY

If the fast guys were just under redline in top gear, and the engine makes peak power at redline, it suggests:
Given Daytona is probably the track with the highest top speed we will encounter, it looks like 3.85 was a great choice.
The Gen3 redline is a bit too low.

+1 on the low-ish rev limiter setting on the GEN3. Another 70-100 RPM might do the trick. That said, I really like the "soft" limiting easing in just before it goes to full-on. Very nice update to the latest firmware.

I've driven both the 3.62 and the 3.85 at Daytona and the 3.85 is clearly faster (close to a second). With the 3.62 the car is between gears in the infield and the 4-5 upshift is boggy. With the 3.85 we're doing the 4-5 upshifts in the mid-high teens (116-119mph) and the car continues accelerating once in 5th. With the 3.62, the shift was coming at 123-125 mph and speed would decay for a bit immediately after the shift.

3.85
6,650ish @ 151.something....

3.62 hurts too much in most places. Now using the old 5th gear may have been better in a good draft. (Not legal in G3...)

I don't think it's legal in Gen2 either (if so, I missed the boat!).

.73 5th gear is still legal in SRF (not in SRF3)
