I believe it's a Dayco 5040445 Serpentine Belt. I did order a shorter one at one point as I could not get enough tension on the original belt. The length is the last three digits, to one decimal point (44.5") so a slightly shorter one would be a 5040440 (44.0").

For cross reference My kit I received four weeks ago came with a Gates belt K040440 The size is listed as 9/16" x 44-5/8" oc. Not sure what oc means but the dimensions are longer than those mentioned above.

It's worth noting that because the way the belt wraps around the water pump pulley the thickness of the belt comes into play also. ie a shorter thin belt and a longer thick belt may have the same effective length when installed for this application.

I have both good tension and plenty of room for adjustment

I bought my spares a couple of years ago, but the one I bought from a CSR the first time I lost one was $38 and from Amazon it was $12 (same brand/size belt)...

Just got some DAYCO 5040440 from Rockauto for 4.23 with the standard 5% discount.

Return to Spec Racer Gen3
