Anyone else having problems getting proper fitment of the tail section because of interference with the height of the GEN3 airbox? If so, I would be interested in methods of resolution. I just purchased a new tail and center section and I'm having a very difficult time getting them to match on the left side.

get out your hacksaw, sawzall, and file and start trimming to fit around the air box. From the mold they don't clear; just did this to mine a couple months ago.

Steve - where are you cutting and trimming? My interference seems to come from the 'channel' between the fender and the back air scoop (the lowest part of the tail) that sits directly on top of the airbox. If that's the case, the only thing I could trim would be the underside of the bodywork, where the fiberglass is really thin already.

Any ideas, suggestions, or details on how you've fit yours?

Jparris, One questions which hit my mind. Is the center section at legal height? Are the rub rails parallel to the frame?

I believe it is at the legal height. The rub rails are parallel to the frame. The flat support sections of the center section are resting flat on the frame and the little tabs at the back sit flat on the spot where they screw into the frame. So it seems to me the center section is at its proper and maximum height.

Is you airbox sitting down on the frame correctly?

When I did the conversion I had to move the air box a little for the back to fit. To move the air box I had to trim the intake to the air box some. I would suggest moving the center section out of the way and determine if there is a position for the air box that works with back. Then see what has to be done to make that work with the center section.

I believe it is. There's not too much variance for where it can sit once it's connected to the throttle body. Until last week, I didn't have it bolted to the frame, but I've done that now and it's sitting as low as it can.

I haven't seen a clean, level seam from anyone. If you figure it out, I'm sure a lot of people will want to know. Like you, I can't trim the tail piece to make it fit, as it interferes with the flat area. Good luck, see you in a few weeks.
