I've been looking for any info (this site and Enterprises) on what our rain tire will be for 2012.
Anybody know whats up for next year?

Not that its official, but the current rain tire will be legal for regional racing next year. National racing will require the new rain. The new rain will the current dry tire with grooves.

I am sure someone can verify this as this was the word at Runoff's.

The CSRs got a quick note from Enterprises on that subject. I will post here just the last part of that note. The bottom line is there is a slight delay in the new rains being required for Nationals for 2012. They are still legal for Regionals in 2012.

At this time we have a delay until at least February 1st for the new rain tire to be mandatory in Nationals. We will keep you updated, and only once in Fastrack (or a separate TB published by SCCA, not us), is the change official.

I only got 1 race on the current rains since switching to SRF.

It was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had racing.

I hope I'm not going to

I talked with Mike about this at the RADL pro

the new spec rain for the National events is about 3 sec slower a lap- not sure where they were tested but that would mean they are probably a little faster the rain tire we had prior to last yr's but not as soft. Mike Said they will last for an entire race distance in the dry without degredation- should be interesting this yr when we have to make tire choices in questionable weather- Will likely require a little more skill to keep it on the track, fun and not so costly but remember this new tire will not brake or feel as good, take it easy the first time out.

By the way- I have a set of one wet session wets for sale (only ran then at the sprints last year) if anybody is interested. I am not planning on doing any regionals next year so would like to find them a good home.

Yeah, I've got some lightly used (and 1 new) rain tires as well for sale. I didn't know this was coming, but am happy.
