That was a pretty exciting session, most of the drivers had their fast time of the week. The top positions were bouncing around like crazy.
John Black improved his best previous time to get into the 1:49's (more than once), the next 22 cars are in the 1:50s.
The "last chance" race for the 41 cars that didn't make the top 60, should be pretty exciting.

The last qualifying is finishing up now, there will be a Miata last chance race, then ours, probably soon after 5:30 Eastern time.

Cooler temperatures yesterday and today is the primary reason for the drop in qualifying times. Monday and Tuesday temps were in the 90s. Yesterday was in the 80s and today was in the 70s.

I will post my video and LCR report when I get home next week.

I thought coverage was pretty good of the Last Chance Race. Loved the "fan out" on the start. Turn 1 will be exciting to watch for all the races. Wish they would of focused on turn 1 / lap 1 a little more so we could see everything that happened at that time, but still a lot of good racing up front at that time.

That gravel at the turn 2 must be really deep to beach so many cars. Noticed they left 2 cars in there so either the racing could continue or because they were so far in.

The cameras did a great job watching the 10 - 12 positions. Was some close racing. Hutch, Current and #86 (sorry don't remember your name) fought hard for the last 2 positions.

In car video of the SRF Gen3 last chance race. Went from 13th (yes at the bubble, so I HAD to pick up one spot) to 4th. I think they left the cars out because the race was half over (5 minutes with 2 laps FCY) so there would be some racing.

I was one of the cars that ended up in the gravel trap (blue #6). The safety crews took us away and left the cars for pickup after the race to maximize green flag time. Riding in a blocker truck is an interesting experience.

Below is a link to my in car footage. Race start is at the 3:20 mark. Had a great start but ran out of room trying to avoid the incident at turn #2. Sorry for the poor audio. Vimeo's compression does a number on it for some reason.

Here's my in-car. I chopped out the laps burned under FCY and one lap where I didn't change positions.
A few close moments that entertained the folks watching videos in the Spec Racer Sports paddock.
Starts off bad with a missed shift at the start but that put me in a good position to see Turn 1 antics.
Bob, we've got to stop seeing each other like this!

Good hard racing Bob. Shows that no matter where we are in the pack, every position is contested. Well done.
