100% Pass - June Sprints Fuel Testing

SCCA Enterprises authorized the use of compliance funds to test cars: 97, 61, 31, 05 and 57 post race. All testing is concluded and no fuel samples had even trace levels of banned substances. We had no spec fuel this year....but can now say that we had no "hot gas" either. To date the fuels that where reported to be new, and make a difference, have failed the chemical analysis testing to the latest banned substance list. We will stay on top of it and where applicable, affordable and convenient still prefer a spec fuel. However, the rules have made it much harder now to blend anything that passes and has a benefit.

Erik

what say you about the runoffs re spec fuel? any decision on this?

any thought on limiting tire usage to keep cost down- i.e. one new set for the entire race week- 3 Q's and 1 race- would make it easy to have a rule for one set for the R/O's

Both the fuel and any "Runoff's only rules" would be SCCA's to make. We could ask for something, but at this point it would be for 2013. I have not even looked at Runoffs fuel rules for 2012 yet... it must be published by now.

If I read the supps right, there is no spec fuel, except that it has to be bought from the track.

Thanks Steve,

That has been the case for a couple of years...and they do accurately police it. i.e. do not blend in your cell and do test early in the week. It has been a real issue getting the sample pure enough.
