Hi everyone!

So I’ve been looking into specialized mechanic courses and I’m seriously considering something focused on Porsche. I’ve always loved their engineering (I grew up around a 911 Turbo that my dad wouldn’t let me touch until I could name every part under the hood) — and now I’d really love to get some formal training (like some I've seen on acuitytrain). ;)

Does anyone here have experience with Porsche-specific certification programs? I’ve heard of the Porsche PTAP in the US but I’m not sure what the options are in Europe, especially something that could work for someone already working part-time in a garage.

Also curious — are these courses mainly geared toward dealership employment, or can they benefit someone wanting to work independently?

Thanks in advance if you’ve got any tips or experiences to share! :)

Have you thought about getting your FAA Airframe / Powerplant Certs? A lot of similarities with regards to the technical / engineering / electrical aspects of high performance cars IMO.
