I'm replacing my alternator and it came with a spacer and locknut where the pulley mounts. Just wondering the proper placement of the spacer? Behind the pulley or in front?

I put the spacer on the outside of the SRF Pulley. Just be sure that the 3 lobed spacer is thick enough to keep the back side of the pulley from contacting and deforming the alternator fan.
