Hi,
I have a Gen 2 SRF with what appears to be the original Renault alternator. My alternator light stays on and the alternator is VERY LOUD so I assume the bearing is shot as well as it not putting out voltage.

I need to find a replacement quickly as I have a race next weekend. Anyone know where I can get one?

How do I identify the correct replacement? Mine has mounting ears 180 degrees apart but none of the Renault alliance alternators I've seen online do, they have them closer together. Pictured is my current alternator

Thanks for any help you can give!

You should be able to get one at your local auto parts store. You are looking for a 1985 Renault Alliance...take the old one with you for comparison purposes. You will need to remove the aluminum pulley from the bad alternator and put it on the replacement alternator. If you have a shop near you that rebuilds alternators and starters, I would take your bad one to them to be rebuilt. As it is usually the voltage rectifier that goes bad from the header heat.

Thanks Bob, I'll take it in to my local auto/electric shop Monday.
