Cranks but won't start.
Fuel pump does not run for a second or two when I flip on the ignition switch.
When I pull the relay and jump it, the fuel pump runs.
Bad relay?
If so, can anyone give me a part number or make/model that will help my local NAPA store get me a new relay?

Thanks

Pat

Suggest checking the old relay for a number, in the past I found replacements by searching on the internet; Midwestspecracer.com parts, shows a relay ELE-061 $59. I am sure someone knows a p/n.

Thanks GSR00.

Rob also gave me a part number F1UZ-9345-A - but neither that one nor your ELE-061 are working for me on the NAPA online part numbers search.

I searched for a Ford Escort relay (various years) and kept coming up with 4 pin relays...mine is 5 pin.

I'd like to pick one up today so I can do some work on the car this weekend - so I don't have time to order one from the good folks at Motion Dynamics - which is what I'd normally do.

Anyone else have a good part number or make/model that works?

Thanks!

Pat

Thanks Ed.
I tried that Mumm Bros. part number - along with the two other part numbers mentioned previously - with both NAPA and Advanced Auto Parts, as well as with my local Ford dealership .....no luck anywhere. Not coming up as a good part number or "discontinued" (@ford dealership).

Might have to just drive over and steal Reed's or Lehner's.....think they'd notice?

I'm not much of a mechanic, but I'm guessing this relay should be ........less colorful.....correct?

Try ebay, the last relay repair I had to do was to fix my electric window in my C5 Corvette which Chevy wanted $650 for the parts. Total cost $4.58 for two with shipping, found the exact part number I was searching for.

As bad as that looks, soaking it in WD-40 and lightly brushing with a brass brush might get it good enough so that you can work on the car this weekend while you wait for a replacement. Or, maybe it's possible to make-up pigtails to jumper it so that the engine runs for whatever work you're trying to get done?

Is it even permitted to get this from outside Enterprises? (I mean for SCCA racing, not for working on the car.)

somehow my first reply is now missing...
Bob Chapman (used to race with us) is a Ford dealer and has (?) a parts list, call to order:
http://specracerdirect.com/
not sure if he is still selling the stuff.
I put the part number in Rockauto search, and they had them for $5!
Ed, yes, it is a Ford part, just like an oil filter.
