Greetings all former Renault Racers.

Can anyone kindly pass along the "bungie-fix" for the transmission dropping out of 3rd gear?

Is the coed in the cockpit - or under the engine and on the transmission. Or worse yet - does the seat have to come out?

As you'd know - it is annoying and unhelpful to hold in gear.

OK, I know I'm going to regret this, but, as I recall, bungee was installed in the cockpit, below the shift knob toward the bottom of the shaft, with enough tension to hold it in 3rd, but not so much that it would pull it out of 4th.

No regrets from me -- Thanks. That is what I was thinking. Barry Mumm suggested a bit of maintenance could fix the problem too - but most likely involves seat removal. That is not in the time scheme for this weekend's Turkey Trot.

Once it starts popping out of gear it's time for a rebuild; the bungee is a temporary fix, though I would confess I probably ran half a season or more with one on the car with no issues.

I ran a few races in gen2 with the bungee assistant.
