I did my first season in a Gen2 last year and have 3 sets of Shelby wheels. They are incredibly heavy. I’ve also heard of/seen steel wheels, Weld wheels, and ?VTO? wheels.

Does anyone know the weights of some of these? I suspect that the differences in unsprung mass could be substantial. Thanks!

IIRC, the Shelbys weigh about 15 lbs more than Welds per set. The newer wheels are about the same as Welds.
The Shelbys are tough, though. :D

This post reminded me to weigh my rims that I just removed tires from. Here is a little more detailed data on rim weights. I was surprised that there was nearly no difference in welds from front to rear.

Weld Wheel - Front 10.3#
Weld Wheel - Rear 10.4#
Shelby - Front 12.3#
Shelby - Rear 14.5#
Steely - Front 13.8#
Steely - Rear no data

Thank you, that is very helpful. That’s pretty significant for the rears especially.
