SCCA Enterprises has been working on developing a replacement powerplant for the almost 20 year old Ford Escort engine. While still in the early stages, here is the latest information we have received:
- Testing of prototype - NOW! (see below)
- engineered in-house
- R & D unit planned availability 2013
- Initial competition 2015
- 2 yrs cutover period with "parallel" classes
The prototype is being tested in real-world environments. We've received our first pictures (and a couple fun video clips) of the prototype of the new Gen 3 engine installation.
