Perhaps this was answered somewhere else -- if so, I apologize for the repeated question.
I found the conversion kit cost, but the SRF kit as listed on the SCCA enterprises site still refers to all of the current-gen Escort stuff.
Is there a rough estimate for what the kit price will be for a new Gen3 kit?

I think it's "roughly" $11,995. Dave Harriman

The cost of the conversion kit was $10,995 if you ordered it before a date that has passed. There is now a waiting list of people that ordered before that date (last Fall) and were put in a lottery. I do not think there is a new price that has been stated, but the price will probably go up a bit because the $10,995 was based on ordering parts for 200 some engines that were ordered last Fall. The delivery for these 200+ engines goes out into (I think) late 2015.
Perhaps Erik can chime in with more current/accurate information. DaveP |

I was going on the fact that am getting ready to send in a 50% payment of $5497.50, but had already sent in $1000, I believe.
Guess I'd better read that pesky paperwork. Dave Dave Harriman

Dave,
I looked at the Gen3 allocation letter on Enterprises web site. The price is $10,995, but the down payment schedule is not stated clearly. From the letter, "A deposit of $1,000 will be due when we deem your production spot to be 12 months out, 50% of the balance will be due 90 days prior to our projected delivery date, and the remainder 30 days prior to shipping." So, you paid 50% of $10,995, but you will only owe the balance 30 days out ($4,497.50). How was Buttonwillow? I miss racing with that group. DaveP |
Thanks for the responses -- some good info, there.
I realize I was a bit unclear in my initial question, though. I'm curious what the cost will be for a new Gen3 kit -- the entire car -- delivered from SCCA Enterprises, including the new engine package. Also, roughly, when will you take my money? Soon, I hope, because I'm moving from Spec Miata to Gen3 as soon as there are some in my region. I'm already sold. I just want to know how much the kit will set me back, as sold by enterprises.

I think it is around $35,000, but just call Enterprises and ask (303) 693-2111.

I know that $35K is not much money for a Run-Offs quality Spec Miata, but you can have a top notch Gen3 and save nearly $10,000 if you buy a solid, used SRF and then do the Gen3 upgrade. I have a feeling that upgrade packages are going to become available as we get into 2015. No doubt some folks got on the calendar but will have a change in plans. |

That's one option I'm exploring. I just want to have all the info before I make a decision one way or the other.
Unrelated: I suppose we'll end up racing one another -- I assume, living in Rockville, you're in the DC region. |
