I just checked on MyLaps - the race I was thinking of was the Glen National in July 2005. Richard won, followed by Mike Miserendino, Adam Burrows, Herbie IV, Andy B-S, me, and Shawn, Top seven finished covered by 1.381 seconds. That was a race!!!!!! :D Best lap times for the top seven were all between 2:14.1 and 2:14.3.

So the question is what criteria were the officials using to establish this new record. Also in the 2004 national, Chris Funk was credited with a 2:14.3 on his way to finishing 3rd. Very curious.

Lee- That was such a great race. I remember being about 5th or 6th with just a few laps to go and thinking, how the hell am I going to get back up to the lead???? I think Richard and I passed each other 4-5 times on the last lap. Good stuff for sure!

We were on that crummy Yoke 048 that year

Mike - that was a great race. I looked at the grid and you had the pole at 2:13.694 with Richard 2nd at 2:13.97 (speaking of fast laps).

I wonder if Warren is lurking out there. I seem to recall he had a 13.5 or 13.6, but I can't find it in my records.

Shawn, that sounds logical -- course changes may have re-set the records. Can anyone confirm?

Still, Lee and Mike were jetting last Sunday.

Dr. Pain? Ouch! Congratulations to Lee after a wild and wooly weekend, which I happened to experience (as an observer, for a while). Lest we forget, as we look at the track record list John provided, Mike holds the track record for the short course! Kids, there are some fast folks out there. Now, about those speed secrets...
