Can someone post the 5 speed gear ratios for the Gen2 and Gen3 (non-sadev) transmissions? I know I've seen it in the forums before but can't seem, to find it.
Thanks.

K. TRANSMISSION: (Drivetrain Violation Items) No performance Modifications of any kind SCCA Enterprises, seals shall be intact for all SCCA competition
GEN 2 Gear Ratios: Ford/Mazda OEM 5-Speed: 1st 3.42 : 1 2nd 1.84 : 1 3rd 1.29 : 1 4th 0.97 : 1 5th 0.77: 1 Final Drive Ratio: 3.85 GEN3 SADEV-SRF3 6-Speed Sequential (beginning Oct. 4, 2021): 1st 3.0000 : 1 2nd 2.0667 : 1 3rd 1.5556 : 1 4th 1.2727 : 1 5th 1.0833 : 1 6th 0.9200 : 1 Final Drive Ratio: 3.20 |
Correction to the last answer:
SRF Gen 2: 5th gear 0.73:1 or 0.77:1 SRF Gen3: Gear ratios are the same as Gen 2, except 5th gear to be 0.77:1 In other words, you can use a SRF3 transmission (non-SADEV) in a Gen 2, but may or may not be able to use the Gen 2 trans in a Gen 3. This info can be found in the GCR - pages 609 and 611 Kurt Breitinger

So, considering final drive, I now see why 1 and 2 in the SADEV run to higher speeds and 4th and 5th come sooner:
1 2 3 4 5 6 H 13.1 7.1 4.97 3.7 2.96 0 S 9.6 6.6 4.98 4.1 3.47 2.944 |
|
Note that the G2 and G3 transmissions are not interchangeable. While the gear ratios are the same, the final drive is not. The final drive ratio on a Gen2 is 3.62, while 3.85 is on a Gen3. Not sure I've seen a G2 trans using a .73 for qulte a while, either (since the availability of the .77).
