An update to those who called & wrote concerning issues at Pocono -

NEDiv Executive Steward Earl Hurlbut has directed that no SCCA race sanctions be issued for club racing at Pocono until the facility passes an SCCA "Track Review". This will likely require repairs or modifications to the track surface & runoff areas, including those that caused some of you grief at the most recent Pocono race.

The "Track Review" process is not a simple thing...it involves a significant review of the facility. It's described in the Operations Manual, for those of you keeping your file cabinets weighted-down:

5.12 Track Review Process The SCCA Track Review Process is coordinated by the Executive Stewards, working with the National Staff designee. The program is comprised of three categories as follows:
Existing track and/or configurations will be reviewed annually by the Executive Stewards using a checklist provided by the National Office.

New track and/or configurations will be reviewed by a track reviewer selected from a list approved by the SCCA at the expenses of the region and/or track. The reviewer will use a checklist provided by the National Office.

Previously approved/decommissioned track and/or configurations will be addressed on a case-by-case basis under a. or b. above at the discretion of the National Office.
