is there a speedometer gear port on the transmission in the SRF? Is it legal to connect a digital pickup to this so I can run a speedometer signal input to a data acquisition system? does anyone know what would be an appropriate speedometer pickup?

thanks

The spedo port is the one that you put the oil in. I made a plug for that port and I think I have the old gear sitting around some place if you need it.

I used to think about doing something like that after throwing about 50 magnets. But GPS has turned out to be a good solution for us.
Plus, that gear would add a lot of parasitic drag! :)

The Aim Solo is getting very popular around here.

Steve,

I swear I posted a reply here the other day, and now it's gone. Hmm.

But as Dave said, and what I posted, the Aim Solo is very popular, and can be had for $400. Includes GPS, shows speed, lap time, builds a track map when downloaded to a PC, and the data can be swapped with any other AIM data acquisition units data.

Hi Rod!

I was checking out that Aim system on their website after looking at yours. Seems pretty nice!
Where are you at now? Still touring tracks?

Nice driving at the Glen!!! Wow!
